YOGA . . . .
Yoga, meditation and breathing are great ways to drop out of your head and into your heartspace.
Mariah offers both passive and active forms of yoga, aiming to find balance between your inner Yin & Yang. All of her classes have a mindful approach, an inward focus, with the aim to help you feel your body, to calm the mind and to connect with your heartspace. A combination of meditation, breathing and at times physically challenging flows of postures will lead the way to initiate this process.

Yin Yoga is a passive, more meditative style of yoga in which you aim to relax the muscles as much as possible so that you can work on supporting your body on a deeper level. The connective tissue is stretched and the energy is coaxed into those parts of the body stimulated. To do so the poses are gently held for a longer period of time. Yin yoga provides you the space to throw all of your ambition out of the window, to feel into your body and to take on the observer role, giving yourself the time to reflect and digest your experiences, thoughts and emotions.
Vinyasa Flow is an active form of yoga where the breath leads the way & where the muscles are stretched and strengthened.
Yin Yang Yoga is a combination of the above two types of yoga. Usually I will start with either Yin or Yang (Vinyasa Flow) yoga and then shift towards the other. In the evenings I choose to start more active and end quietly to get your ready for bed and in the mornings usually the other way around.
Mariah is a certified yoga teacher. She believes in continuous development and training. She has followed both Vinyasa and Yin Yoga teacher trainings and is inspired by teachers including David Lurey, Anat Geiger, Shiva Rae and Sarah Powers.
